NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

 

 The Jackson County Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing on March 19, 2024 at 6:25 p.m., at the Justice & Administration Building, 401 Grindstaff Cove Road, Room A201, Sylva, North Carolina. The purpose of the public hearing to receive public comment on the consideration of proposed amendments to the Agricultural District Ordinance.  The proposed amendments are located on the county website at: planning.jacksonnc.org under the tab "Ordinance & Maps" then the tab "Amendments". Citizens are invited to make written or oral comments.  This meeting will be live-streamed via YouTube.  The link is located on the county website at: www.jacksonnc.org under the Government Tab: Commissioner Meeting Videos.

STATEMENT OF RESULTS OF BOND REFERENDUM

JACKSON COUNTY -- INDOOR POOL FACILITIES 


 The Jackson County Board of Elections has certified the following results of the bond referendum held in and for Jackson County, North Carolina, on November 3, 2020, as follows: 


 On the question, “Shall the order authorizing Jackson County general obligation bonds in the maximum amount of $20,000,000 plus interest to pay capital costs of providing indoor pool facilities and paying related costs, and providing that additional taxes may be levied in an amount sufficient to pay the principal of and interest on the bonds, as adopted by the County’s Board of Commissioners on July 10th, 2020, be approved?”

The Jackson County Board of Commissioners has certified and approved these results and declared the issuance of the bonds to have been authorized.


Any action or proceeding challenging the regularity or validity of this bond referendum must be begun within thirty days after January 28, 2021, which is the date of this publication.
