This 26,000 square foot facility offers:
Full size gymnasium (basketball, volleyball, table tennis, and badminton)
Fitness Room with Precor and TRUE cardiovascular equipment, Nautilus weight equipment, and free weights.  Aerobics room, Yoga/Spinning room, along with
Men's and Women's locker and shower facilities.

Monday - Friday 6:00am - 9:00pm
Saturday 7:00am - 8:00pm
Sunday 1:00-6:00pm

Personal Training

The Jackson Country Recreation Center provides certified trainers who are trained and motivated to help you reach your goals.  All trainers must have a current certification from a nationally recognized organization, be CPR/First Aid certified, and have a contract with JCRPD to provide services.  The trainers have been through extensive testing and ongoing education, adhering to industry quality standards to provide you with individualized results.
*Non-members will be required to pay the $5 daily rate ($3 for seniors).
Personal Training (all sessions are one hour):
1 Session - $35
5 Sessions - $150
10 Sessions - $285
Fitness Assessment (no training): $40

Partner Training (2 People):
5 Sessions - $225
10 Sessions - $430


Homeschool PE

This is an ongoing program that offers physical education classes for participants ages 5-15 who are not eligible to participate in school based programs. This class meets once per week for one hour. It offers physical fitness in the form of game play, free play, and sport skill development. Participants enjoy games such as kick ball, tennis, volleyball, basketball, soccer, and other non sport related games that engage them physically. 

Fun 4 Kids Summer Day Camp

This program is held each summer at the Jackson County Recreation Center. It is available to all children ages 6-12.  Activities include pool trips, field trips, group games, individual games, arts and crafts, and other special speakers. Registration for this camp is held in March each year. This 9-week camp usually runs from early June to early August. 

 Sylva Pool

Roscoe Poteet Swimming Pool located on Municipal Drive in Sylva is owned by the Town of Sylva and is operated by the Jackson County Recreation/Parks Department. The Sylva pool is open from late May through August. Children under 10 years of age must be accompanied by an adult. The Sylva Swimming pool offers a kiddie play area with dumping buckets, mushroom fountain and spray attractions, restrooms, hot showers and concessions. There are a limited number of chairs and loungers available and they are on a first come first serve basis, so it's a good idea to bring your own.

Open Swim: $3.00 per person (Lap Swim $1)
Season Passes: Individual is $80.00...Family is $150.00

Pool Parties:   $80.00 for 2 hours (7:00-9:00pm on Fri/Sat/Sun only) plus $10.00 per lifeguard per hour with a two guard minimum.

PARENT/CHILD SWIM: (children under 10 years of age)

Will begin the week after the pool opens for children ages 3 and above. Lessons start at 5:15pm and cost $25.00 per two weeks. Classes are groupled 3-5 year olds and 6-12 year olds. Monday/Wednesday classes or Tuesday/Thursday from 5:15-6:00pm. Registration starts the week the pool opens.
